From Our Elder Board
The Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church body maintains a Biblically based belief in the saving grace of Jesus Christ. We are united in a confident reliance upon the Holy Spirit. We recognize and honor one holy, universal and apostolic Church with Jesus Christ as the Head. We acknowledge that Scripture is the inerrant Word of God, is divinely inspired and is alive. Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. He experienced physical death on the cross as payment for our sins so that we may have the opportunity of everlasting life. We wish to proclaim, in word and deed, the Gospel of forgiveness and life everlasting through faith in Jesus Christ. We seek to know Christ and to make Him known.
Key Points from Our Constitution
The Bible: This congregation accepts all the canonical books of the Old and New Testaments as a whole and in all their parts as the divinely inspired, revealed, and inerrant Word of God and submits this as the only infallible authority in all matters of faith and life. This congregation holds that the creation as described in the Bible is not a myth but is historic fact.
Faith in the Triune God: This congregation believes in one God, eternally existing in three persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit as revealed in the Bible.
God the Father: This congregation believes in the Almighty God, Creator of the Universe, Who created man in the image of God, Who from the beginning loved goodness and hated evil and Who desires that the children of his creation live in eternal fellowship with Him.
This congregation believes that man sinned and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death which is separation from God, and that all human beings are born with a sinful nature and become guilty sinners in thought, word and deed.
This congregation believes that God the Father gave His only begotten Son to be the Savior of the world, that human beings might be set free from the bondage of sin and become joint heirs with Christ of eternal life.
Jesus Christ, God’s Son and our Savior: This congregation believes that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. The heart and center of this congregation’s faith is belief in Jesus Christ and love for Him, true God and true man, the eternal Word of God, the only Son of God and the only Savior of the world.
This congregation believes Jesus Christ died for our sins, according to the Bible, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice; that He rose victorious from the grave on the third day; that all who believe in Him are justified by His shed blood and this congregation believes in the personal and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ.
This congregation believes in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust, the everlasting joy of the saved and the everlasting conscious punishment of the lost.
Holy Spirit: This congregation acknowledges dependence upon the Holy Spirit working solely through the means of grace; to call unbelievers into the saving faith in Jesus Christ, who by such acceptance are born anew of the Holy Spirit and become children of God; to empower believers to grow in faith, to bestow His gifts for the ministry of His Church; to inspire love for one another and to bring glory to God, the Father through Jesus Christ.
Our Mission is
TO KNOW CHRIST AND TO MAKE HIM KNOWN.
